Often a new spool of filament will print very good when first removed from it's air tight package, but print quality can deteriorates after a few weeks/months (or hours/days with Nylon) in storage. Most 3D printing filaments (ABS, PLA, PETG, PETT, TPU, PC and especially Nylon) are hygroscopic materials, which have a strong affinity for moisture. Once removed from their original packaging, these filaments can readily begin to absorb moisture from the air. Even a small amount of moisture in the filament can cause streaks, bubbles, burning, brittleness, increased "stringing", and even a chemical reaction (hydrolysis) when the filament melts, passing through the heated nozzle. When this happens, the filament will make a popping/cracking/hissing sound and the 3D prints will have rough/grainy surface finish with reduced physical properties (less tensile and impact strength).

Many people use cheap resealable plastic bags to store their filament when not in use. The thin plastic on resealable bags is prone to developing small holes/tears, and the seals can often leak over time making them a poor choice for storage. The PrintDry vacuum seal-able filament storage system provides a convenient and effective way to protect your 3D printer filament with thick sturdy walls, 4 strong clamps, and a vacuum seal.  These containers are great for storing all filaments but are especially great for storing extremely moisture sensitive filaments like nylon, PVA, and water-soluble support materials. The 5-pack of stack-able containers means you can store several spools individually without exposing all your spools to ambient moisture every time you remove a spool like you would if they were all stored in 1 large container. These containers work great when combined with the PrintDry filament dryers.

How to use

Our new vacuum sealed containers are super easy to use.

1) Place your filament spool inside the container with some desiccant pouches, put on the lid and align the tabs of the lid and the container, engage the 4 strong clamps.

2) Take the hand plunger and line up the bottom of the hand plunger with the center vacuum valve on the container lid.  Pressing down gently on the hand plunger, simply lift the plunger handle slowly until it reaches the top of the pump, and then push down on the plunger until it reaches the bottom of the pump. Repeat this up and down motion for 4-8 times.

3) To release the vacuum seal, place your index finger on the outside rim of the valve, and press it towards the center.

  • *Recommended 4-8 pumps. Too many pumps may cause buckling.
  • *Release the vacuum and reapply at least once a month to prevent container base from buckling.


 

    Order Confirmation:

    As soon as you place your order, you will receive an order confirmation e-mail. This means that we have received your order in our system and pre-authorized your credit card for the purchase.  As soon as we receive your order, we automatically reach out to our suppliers to confirm that it is in stock and available for immediate shipment.  If your item is on backorder or unavailable, we will void the pre-authorization and reach out to you via e-mail.  If your item(s) are available for immediate shipment (within 5 business days), we will process the charges and submit the order for shipment.

    Order Shipment:

    If your order is in stock and we process the charges to your credit card, it will ship within five business days from the date of your order.  We will send you tracking information within 24 hours of your order leaving the warehouse to the e-mail address you provided when checking out.  If you do not receive tracking information from us within six business days of your order, feel free to follow up with us at sales@Project3DPrinters.com.

    Lost, Stolen, Damaged:

    Project 3D Printers is proud to partner with Route, the leader in package protection and tracking solutions. By selecting Route+ at checkout your order will be protected from damage, loss*, or theft. In the unfortunate case that your order never comes or is broken upon arrival, you can easily file a claim with Route and receive a replacement or be fully reimbursed. We are excited to offer this service to you and we highly recommend you use Route+ package protection at checkout.

    *Claims for packages marked "delivered" must be filed after 5 days and before 15 days from the date the package was marked "delivered." Claims for packages presumed to be lost (where the status is not "delivered") must be filed after 7 days (20 days for international) and within 30 days from the last checkpoint.

    If a customer opts out of Route shipping coverage, please inspect the packaging of your item(s) when they arrive, if you notice any damage you should make note of it when signing for delivery.  If your item(s) do arrived damaged, please send photos to returns@Project3DPrinters.com and we will process an insurance claim on your behalf.

    Cancellations & Refunds/Returns:

    Before accepting a return on a product that isn't functioning as it should, Project 3D Printers reserves the right to exhaust any and all means to resolve and/or repair the malfunction through technical support and replacement parts provided by both the manufacturer and Project 3D Printers.  No return will be accepted without reasonable attempts to resolve the issue(s) first.  All returned products must be returned within 30 days of date of purchase.

    Project 3D Printers enforces a strict "No Returns Accepted" policy for opened and/or partially used products, including filament, resin, or any consumable of any size and weight that has been used or opened from its factory and vacuum seal.  Only products and consumables that are unused, and in brand new factory condition are eligible for return to the manufacturer of origin within 30 days of the purchase date.

    If a product is found to be non-functional or defective, the product must be returned with its full original contents within 30 days of purchase for inspection of the non-functionality.  If the product is found to be defective or non-functional a full-refund will be given, not including return shipping at the customer's expense.

    All orders cancelled after 48 hours are subject to a $20 administration fee, whether or not your order has shipped.  If you order has shipped, you (the buyer) will also be responsible for actual return shipping charges. Refunds will only be issued to the original credit card that you use when placing your order.  Buyer is responsible for and pays a 20% restocking of the value of the returned item(s).  Buyer pays all shipping fees for the returned item(s). 

    Customs Fees, Tariffs, Duty Fees and Import Taxes:

    Only customers are responsible for their local import taxes, tariffs, duty fees and import taxes incurred during shipping.  To know about your customs import duties please contact your local customs office with this details  (HS Code :8477 Product description: 3d printer or 3d printer kit). If the tax amount is high, we can provide assistance to reduce it.

     

    We work very hard to ensure that we offer the absolute best prices online.  If you find another online store that offers a lower price than us within six months of your purchase date please let us know and we will refund your original payment for the difference.  We want you to feel confident that you are getting the absolute best price for the product you are ordering.  If you find that our own website has a lower price for the same item you have ordered within six months of your purchase date will refund the difference as well.

    To request your partial refund simply e-mail us a link to the same product on our website, or on our competitors website within six months from the date of your order and we will process the credit accordingly.

    Our 100% Price Guarantee has some limitations:

    • You must purchase the item from our website before requesting your Price Match Guarantee
    • Promotions such as rebates and buy one, get one free offers are not eligible
    • The item must be in stock on the competitors website
    • The competitor must be an online store, they may not have a retail location
