Scan Dimension - SOL 3D Scanner

I have the Dremel digilab 3D printer. Is it compatiable with it? Will it work with that printer? Also, would I need to purchase anything else with it (in order to use it)?
Most 3D scanners can create a 3D print file and then send to the printer. Users have to do some massaging of the data to get a good clean print but that is how you go from a 3D scanner to 3D printer. The 3D printer doesn't matter with scanner compatability.
The scanner was developed and is marketed by Scan Dimension, a subsidiary of Global Scanning A/S Group of Denmark. The SOL 3D scanner is relatively small and lightweight, and via its software, notifies users of next steps with sound notifications or text messages. 3D scans can be viewed directly through the SOL software.
With the SOL 3D scanner you can reproduce your own designs, share or save your collections digitally. You can make additions to existing designs or show your inventions to the world in 3D.

The SOL scanner software does it all: Calibrate, scan, mesh and deliver.
Scanning is done in only 3 simple steps:
If you want to scan the object from another angle you repeat step 2-3 and get the bottom scanned as well.
This gives you a scan you can use for printing, sharing, saving or remodeling.
We have worked to make the SOL scanner as user-friendly as possible to save you from a lot of hassle:
No need to manually align multiple scans of the same object
No need to walk around the object with the scanner
No need to turn off the lights in the room
... and many other benefits
That's why we think the SOL 3D scanner is the best plug and play 3D scanner and we look forward to get you started scanning.
Here are the technical specifications for the SOL 3D scanner:
SOL can help a variety of users achieve their goals with regard to 3D scanning.
Reproducing an object can be time-consuming, tedious, and error-prone. The SOL 3D scanner and software allows you to easily create a replica of objects using six simple steps:
Creating an accurate 3D model of a complex object can be difficult. The SOL 3D scanner helps jump-start your modeling by giving you accurately sized replica objects. Then, these can then be incorporate into your project, or used as a reference object in your 3D modeling software. A typical workflow to accelerate your modeling process is:
In the past, sharing a 3D representation of something has been challenging. The SOL 3D scanner and software make this easy, especially with the free cloud storage space provided when you purchase a scanner. To share your scans, simply:
"Wow the resolution is amazing and the software so simple a 10 year old mastered it in a few minutes."– Valued Customer
"Just Brilliant. I was able to scan an incredibly small model head with minute details like a clef chin and it was visible in a zoom! Super happy. As reference this was a 1/12 scale human head."– Customer in Austin, Texas
"The scan quality is great [...], you probably won't find a scanner that is so easy to use then this one. My child uses it without very much instruction. I love the tent is included."– TrustPilot reviewer
How it Works
The Scan Dimension engineering team focused on developing an incredibly easy-to-use scanner. To start a scan, users simply place an object on a turntable, cover it with the included tent, and press a button — the laser, camera, and software do the rest.
SOL notifies users of the next steps with sounds or text messages. SOL features near- and far-mode scanning, and supports the following dimensions and maximum weight:
SOL requires PC Windows 10 or macOS X 10.14 or 10.15
Hardware requirements include a 64-bit processor with dual-core RAM, 5 GB hard disk space or higher, OpenGL 3.3+ compatible graphics card, 1024 x 768-pixel display or higher, 2 USB 3.0 ports available.

LEARN ABOUT APPLICATIONSIdeas are abundant, yet turning those ideas into real world objects and applications is challenging. SOL makes it simple for students to generate high-resolution scans for artistic creation, invention, prototyping and more. |
Typically, usage within a classroom, lab, or maker space falls into one of three broad use-cases or workflows:
Scan-to-print (Learn More) - With this use-case, the focus is on allowing the student to easily create a duplicate or replica of an object. The scan will primarily be used to import into a 3D printing program(slicer) and then output to a scanner. It may be scaled up or down in prior to printing depending on the student’s project. Using a real-world object as the input for the learning process will help students compare physical output to the original object and can help illustrate different choices they might have made in the printing process. Scanning to print may also be useful as students need to reproduce parts for use in some other project, such as robot building, prototyping, or art creation.
